Samsung readies its 2027 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup with a 49-inch OLED beast

Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SJ)

This model features a curved 49-inch panel with a 360Hz refresh rate and DQHD resolution (5120 × 1440 pixels). Its 32:9 aspect ratio makes it very wide, like having two 16:9 monitors without anything interrupting the display.

It reduces colour fringing and improves text display with its RGB Stripe sub-pixel layout and can reach 1,300 nits of peak brightness. A unique feature is the ability to switch to Dual HD (2560 x 720 pixels) to double its refresh rate to 720Hz.

Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SJ)

Also a premium-grade offering in its 2027 lineup, the G80SJ is a flat 32-inch QD-OLED that outputs UHD (almost true 4K, at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels) resolution. Like the G9 above, it also uses Penta Tandem technology and RGB Stripe subpixels.

When it’s at UHD resolution, it can go up to 360Hz refresh rate. Higher rates are possible if you reduce the resolution (QHD at 520Hz, FHD at 680Hz). It has Samsung’s Glare Free film, which it 

It has VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 600, plus it supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync synchronisation technologies.

Inputs include one DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI, one USB-C with 98W Power Delivery, a USB hub (with two downstream ports), and KVM support.

Odyssey OLED G7 (G75SJ)

Samsung said this model is the world’s first 42-inch, 16:9 aspect ratio, curved OLED gaming monitor. It has 1000R curvature, 4K OLED picture quality, a 165Hz refresh rate, and Glare Free technology. 

Odyssey G6 (G60H)

This 27-inch Fast IPS panel goes up to a 1,100Hz refresh rate, and it’s specifically made for gamers who are big on first-person shooter (FPS) game titles. First announced at CES 2026, it was now improved upon right before launch. In Dual Mode, it can still go up to 600Hz.
