Singapore Airlines’ 10 Airbus A380 Routes Revealed: See Full List

The Airbus A380 is the iconic double-decker aircraft that still demands a grand presence at every airport it serves. While the number of A380 operators has dwindled, several airlines still use these superjumbos on key international routes. Singapore Airlines was the inaugural operator of the type, deploying the A380 between Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD); since then it has expanded its reach.

Today, the carrier’s largest market for the A380 is from Singapore to London Heathrow Airport (LHR), and Sydney, where the Star Alliance carrier maintains a double daily service. These are the only city pairs on which it operates the aircraft more than once a day, with all other operations either once daily or multiple times a week.

Singapore’s operations to London are a key market for the airline, with huge demand from travelers between Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, leveraging its network for one-stop itineraries to the British capital. Singapore operates four daily flights between SIN and LHR, and two use the double-decker.

Data from Cirium, an online aviation analytics company, shows that Singapore Airlines operates two daily flights from Singapore to London, cementing its place as one of the six major A380 operators at the UK’s busiest airport, alongside British Airways, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad and Qantas.

Australia Bound With The World’s Largest Passenger Aircraft

With a double-daily service, flights from Singapore to Sydney remain steady as the carrier’s second most popular route. This route complements multiple daily services between the two airports, albeit with alternative aircraft. Singapore also plans to add additional services with other widebody aircraft to Western Sydney Airport (WSI) from November this year.

The third most popular service for Singapore’s double-decker is to Mumbai Airport (BOM). The Star Alliance carrier maintains this route with daily flights and, from September 2026 onwards, has a total of 327 departures scheduled. This scrapes just ahead of that of Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), which, while overall operates the route daily, has a total of 299 departures booked in with the superjumbo.

These two key Indian markets again make the most of Singapore’s wide reach to and from its Changi hub, leveraging high demand from Australia, New Zealand, other parts of Asia, and North America.

Oceania, Asia, Europe & The Middle East With The Airbus A380

As detailed in the table above, operations to the likes of Melbourne Airport (MEL), Australia’s second-largest city, Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), and Frankfurt Airport (FRA) all add to the airline’s daily services with the superjumbo. At all three airports, services are somewhat seasonal, with Melbourne and Shanghai running A380 flights through the end of March, while Frankfurt runs daily until the end of October, then resumes for the Northern Hemisphere summer season from March.

Auckland Airport (AKL) will see the A380 return for the Southern Hemisphere summer season, where New Zealand’s busiest airport and largest city welcomes the superjumbo once again. That’s 154 services, daily from October 25 through March 27, adding to the carrier’s existing Boeing 777-300ER services already serving Auckland (and Christchurch, for that matter).

Other notable mentions include Dubai International Airport (DXB), with a daily service from the end of March, and Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), which, returning from June 20 next year, will have daily operations for just a month, dropping back to other aircraft types after just 35 rotations.

In total, Singapore Airlines’ annual A380 departures have grown substantially year on year since the pandemic, when in 2021 just 105 A380 flights operated, and this year alone will total 3,088 flights to destinations around the world.
