Xbox CEO Says Project Helix Includes a Family of Devices

Despite Sharma suggesting in the past that Project Helix may be targeting a holiday 2027 release, we don’t know exactly when the new gaming hardware will launch. In June, she acknowledged that a mass audience won’t be willing to spend “thousands of dollars” on a “console generation,” teasing that Microsoft will explore “new business models” as it looks to the future.

While we wait to see what exactly Project Helix and its family of devices are, you can see why we think the next-gen Xbox console needs to clearly communicate its strengths and be more than a simple Series sequel. While it’s unclear if it will allow fans to use physical game discs in a traditional sense, what is clear is that Microsoft will soon allow Xbox fans to digitize their video games.
