Forget traditional, clunky wine buckets that ruin the bottle’s label and result in water dripping everywhere. Vivant’s new Venus G2 Portable Electronic Wine Chiller is the sleek, high-tech alternative that looks perfectly at home on a kitchen counter while offering granular control over the temperature of the wine being chilled.
With 77.8% of wine volume sold in Singapore in 2023 being through off-trade outlets like supermarkets and specialist retailers, it’s clear that more people are choosing to enjoy wine in the comfort of their home.
Additionally, the premium wine market (bottles over S$70) climbed by 11.3% in the first half of 2024, meaning more people are looking at quality. Thus, being able to serve wines at the perfect temperature at home is more important than ever, and that’s where the Venus G2 comes in.

This is Vivant’s second iteration of a portable wine chiller, and simply from an aesthetics viewpoint, the Venus G2 is much improved over the first generation. The transparent window lets you show off the bottle you’re currently drinking, and there’s an ambient light that automatically turns on when the machine senses a bottle or Vivant Wine’s own carafe being placed inside.
The chilling comes from two Peltier cooling plates, one that comes into contact with the back of the bottle and one on the bottom. Thanks to this, if you keep the entire bottle in, the Venus G2 is able to maintain its temperature between 8°C and 20°C.

However, if you require even more intense cooling (perhaps for sweet ice wine or a crisp Sauvignon Blanc), the machine is able to go down to as cold as 4°C and maintain that temperature, but that’s provided you use Vivant’s own decanter carafe, since it has thinner walls than a wine bottle.
