Hoyoverse’s Nodusfall is a Monster Hunter-style co-op game dressed like Elden Ring

Like its current library of titles, Hoyoverse says Nodusfall will still be a free-to-play game, but it won’t feature random character draws. Instead, characters will be unlocked through continued play.

In Nodusfall, players are cast as Weavers and find themselves in a world where divine authority has collapsed and taken any sense of order along with it. They will form squads with other characters and fight creatures inspired by mythologies from around our real world – including ancient beasts rooted in Eastern folklore and, of course, dragons.

So why is it compared to Monster Hunter? Because there’s also a hunting-game mechanics underneath all that mythology. Players can customise their combat styles and skill combinations before taking on these creatures, with defeated enemies dropping resources as well as new weapons and abilities. Visually, Nodusfall seems to have taken inspiration from Elden Ring, with its high-fantasy atmosphere: ruined landscapes, fallen gods, and muted colours and more realistic character designs.

There is no release date or confirmed platform list yet, but it’s safe to assume it will be available on PlayStation 5, PC and very likely mobile too. Pre-registration for a chance to join a future beta test is available through the official Nodusfall website now.
