Another parent speaks up after girl, 12, was scolded and told to ‘get out’ of bus over EZ-Link card error

A 12-year-old child was left distressed after apparently being chided by a bus captain over an issue with her EZ-Link card.

Stomper N shared her daughter’s experience after reading an earlier Stomping Ground article titled ‘P5 boy allegedly told to alight bus as EZ-Link card short of $0.30, dad asks for more compassion’.

N said on Oct 30: “After reading the recent story about the Primary 5 boy who was told to alight from a bus because his EZ-Link card was short of $0.30, I felt deeply affected – because something similar happened to my own child.

“My daughter, who is in Primary 6, once faced a distressing situation while taking the bus to school. During boarding, her EZ-Link card either didn’t tap properly or wasn’t detected in the crowd. Because of that, there was no entry record.
