Lengkok Bahru murder suspect taken back to crime scene


SINGAPORE – The 59-year-old accused of murdering his neighbour at Block 55 Lengkok Bahru on July 20 was taken back to the crime scene by police on Aug 25.

On July 22, Ng Swee Seng was charged with the murder of Thiyagarajan Karunakaran, also 59.

Police were alerted to the incident at around 5pm on July 20 and found Thiyagarajan lying motionless at a lift lobby on the 16th floor. He was taken to the National University Hospital and died later.

On Aug 25, a handcuffed Ng, wearing a red polo T-shirt and shorts, arrived in a black van at 9.20am. He had restraints around his feet and was flanked by several officers.

Ng stared intently at members of the media before he was taken in the lift to the 16th floor.
