SINGAPORE (Bernama): The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) has instructed mosques across the republic to shorten their Friday prayer sermons beginning Friday (Aug 21), amid hot weather and the haze.
MUIS in a Facebook post said the change is temporary and a necessary adjustment to the increasingly hot and hazy weather conditions Singapore is facing.
“Starting this week, the Friday sermon sessions will be shortened to help keep our congregants comfortable during these challenging weather conditions.
“Typically, the first sermon is around six to seven pages. With these temporary changes, it will be under four pages,” it said on Friday.
