Commuter demands MRT link for Pasir Ris and Punggol

A commuter has taken to social media calling for a direct MRT link between Pasir Ris and Punggol stations, with his video garnering over 397,000 views within a day as netizens echoed his demands.

TikToker @kaungzinye says in a post on Aug 21 that he “needs an MRT from Pasir Ris to Punggol to be built now”.

Pointing to the stations on an MRT map, he asks: “How is it that Sixth Avenue and Tan Kah Kee got MRT before Pasir Ris to Punggol? Do you know how many people take the bus from Pasir Ris to Punggol every single day?”

Jabbing his finger at the Tan Kah Kee station icon on the MRT map, he insists that “no one” living in the area takes public transport.
