Apple’s product roadmap revealed by macOS update

Macs and iPad mini

The Mac and iPad categories are equally well represented in the code. Among the references are an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro (J804), a pair of new iMac models (J833 and J834), and multiple MacBook Pro variants (K114c, K114s, K116c, and K116s) that could be the higher-end OLED models.

The code also points to a new iPad mini (J510 and J511), which previous rumours suggest could become the first iPad mini to adopt an OLED display.

Smart home products

Perhaps the most intriguing references relate to Apple’s long-rumoured smart home plans. The software appears to reference several products in the category, including:

AirPods and Vision Pro 2

The code includes references to AirPods with cameras (B790), AirPods Pro 4, and a second-generation Vision Pro (N109), the latter reportedly being a project that was ultimately cancelled.

The appearance of these identifiers doesn’t necessarily guarantee every product will launch, but it does offer a glimpse into the projects Apple has been actively developing behind the scenes.

When could they launch?

The first wave of products, which includes the iPhone 18 Pro and foldable iPhone, could be unveiled as early as next month. The Mac refresh should follow sometime in late October.
