Many alleged clips of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay have leaked online this week, showing everything from combat to basketball, and Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two is scrambling to figure out just how it happened. Now, the publisher has subpoenaed both Microsoft and Discord in order to investigate potential users involved with the leaks.
One subpoena, filed in the South District Court of New York (via Kotaku), aims to “obtain the identity of an alleged infringer or infringers” who was involved in sharing Grand Theft Auto 6 content. The subpoena calls the content “copyrighted material,” which would seemingly confirm that it was a legitimate leak and not an elaborate hoax. Alongside the gameplay, the leaker was also advertising crypto.
