‘Four languages, one heart’: SIA serenades Singaporeans with song and dance on National Day, Singapore News


Their work may take them to many places around the world, but there’s only one country they call home.

The stewards and stewardesses of Singapore Airlines (SIA) have put together a performance for all Singaporeans in a video shared on SIA’s Instagram page on Friday (Aug 9) — our country’s 61st birthday.

The video begins with a flight steward, Kelvin, playing a violin, while stewardess Lei Hoi plays a guzheng.

Leading steward Jasper, dressed in a short-sleeved batik shirt, then eases into the first song of the performance: Semoga Bahagia, composed by Zubir Said.

Zubir Said also composed Singapore’s national anthem, Majulah Singapura.

The music then shifts into a familiar, upbeat tune, as stewardesses Michelle and Michele, as well as chief stewardess Natasha, dance to the beat of Munnaeru Vaalibaa.
