F1 Exhibition Singapore: Cars & racing sims

We might still be a few months away from the Singapore Grand Prix, but as the current F1 season heats up, it’s a good chance to witness and learn about the competition’s history at the F1 Exhibition, open in Singapore now.

Held at Gardens by the Bay, the F1 Exhibition features seven immersive galleries, each with their own theme. Without spoiling too much, each of those galleries will showcase exhibits like racing suits, archived footage, and even the cars themselves.

This includes the Red Bull RB7, Williams FW15C, Lotus E21, Toyota TF 109 and the BAR Honda 005. One gallery, titled ‘Survival’, will also feature components from Romain Grosjean’s Haas VF-20, the same one involved in his fateful crash in the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix.

You can also download the F1 Exhibition companion app (on App Store and Google Play). it may seem a hassle to download an app just for one exhibition, but it allows you to tune in to the on-site audio that accompanies the displays.

All in all, the entire thing takes about 90 minutes to get through, though you can experience it at your own pace. Although, there is one part where you’d want to speed up: The Fastest Lap, a racing sim that’s a mainstay of the F1 Exhibition wherever it goes. In this local rendition, you’ll get to race around the Marina Bay circuit behind the wheel of an F1 car.

And for the local touch, the exhibition also features one Singapore-centric gallery titled ‘Singapore Drive’, which covers the contributions made to the sport by Singapore and lets you learn about the ambitions of Singapore’s own racers.

The F1 Exhibition opened on the 24th of July, and will run till 18 October, so you can still drop by this weekend before it closes. The tickets start at S$49 for adults (18+), S$40 for ages 13-17, and S$29 for those aged 5-12, though peak prices can go up to S$10 more. You can purchase your tickets here, though do take note of the ticket types – the Flexi and Pole Position tickets have their perks, but will be more expensive than General Admission ones.

The opening hours for the F1 Exhibition are 11am to 9pm from now till 2 August, and 11am to 7pm from 3 August onwards.
