iPhone Air 2: Five major Apple upgrades expected



Despite reports that the first-generation iPhone Air has struggled to gain traction with consumers, Apple is reportedly pressing ahead with a successor that addresses several of the model’s biggest shortcomings.

According to analyst Jeff Pu’s latest research note, the iPhone Air 2 is on track for a Q1 2027 launch and will introduce five notable hardware upgrades to make the ultra-thin smartphone more compelling.

The biggest change could be the addition of a second rear camera. The second-generation iPhone Air is expected to feature a 48MP ultra-wide camera, giving users greater flexibility for landscape, group, and macro photography. The original iPhone Air was widely criticised for offering only a single rear camera, making this one of the most meaningful upgrades.
