Tsuburaya Productions is bringing two long-awaited heroes to the Ultraman Card Game with Booster Pack 09 (BP09), titled Here He Comes! Our Hero!, which will be released on 23 October 2026.
The expansion also marks the trading card game debut of the original Ultraman, a first from the Showa-era Ultraman series. He will be joined by Ultraman Cosmos, another character that Tsuburaya says has been frequently requested by players.
Their arrival coincides with the second anniversary of the Ultraman Card Game, but BP09 is more than a commemorative set. It will also introduce two additions that could substantially change how decks are constructed and played: Boost Cards and the new Color System.
Boost Cards will become the game’s third main card category alongside Character and Scene Cards. These cards draw upon recognisable parts of the wider Ultraman universe, including defence teams and items used throughout the series. That said, Tsuburaya has yet to explain their precise gameplay mechanics, with card effects and further details to be revealed closer to launch.
