Just months after dismissing speculation that it was winding down operations, OnePlus has confirmed that it will withdraw from North America and Europe, marking one of the biggest strategic shifts in the company’s history.
During a media briefing, OnePlus said its exit from the two regions was the result of a carefully considered long-term business strategy rather than a sudden retreat. The company added that the decision was not imposed solely by parent company OPPO, nor was it made independently by OnePlus. Instead, it described the move as part of a broader global product strategy.
“Users are at the heart of all we do,” OnePlus said during the briefing. “The right brand does the right thing in the right market,” the company noted, suggesting that future investments will be concentrated in markets where the brand believes it can compete more effectively.
