Singapore unveils plans for Woodlands hub to link with Johor RTS

The Woodlands project will integrates transport, commercial and industrial functions into a single district, the corporation said. The RTS Link will be able to transport up to 10,000 travellers an hour both ways when it becomes operational by the end of 2026.

The first phase of the transport hub is to be completed by about 2030 and will comprise a bus interchange of about 6,500 sq m, with 28,000 sq m of retail space and 22,000 sq m of flexible office space.

The overall project will also feature two blocks of factories to be completed in 2031 and 2034.

Earlier this year, Singapore’s trade and industry minister Gan Siow Huang said the Woodlands Gateway will serve as the republic’s northern corridor to enhance connectivity with the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.

Woodlands Gateway would also cater to firms with manufacturing sites in Johor but with their regional headquarters in Singapore.
