Coinciding with the release of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Marvel is dedicating its comic lineup for the month of August to the hotly anticipated tag-team fighter. The game, from renowned fighting game developer Arc System Works, will be released on Aug. 6.
Marvel announced on its official blog that there will be two major celebrations of the game in comic form. The first is a tie-in, titled Marvel TÅkon: First Strike #1, a one-shot comic. Marvel teases that the tie-in will “expand the game’s mythology and reveal the exciting backstories of its playable heroes as well as its antagonists, the Promoter and Champion.” A sneak peek at the issue shows a stylish cover with some of the game’s cast as well as three pages of interior art. The pages show the Champion in a ruined city, the Avengers fighting a threat in New York, and Storm taking down a Sentinel.
