Samsung is expected to hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event later this month, where it will unveil the latest additions to its Galaxy ecosystem. Traditionally, Samsung has used this mid-year launch event to introduce its next-generation foldable smartphones, smartwatches, and wireless earbuds.
This year’s Galaxy Unpacked, however, could be one of Samsung’s biggest hardware showcases in recent years. Beyond the expected refresh of its foldable lineup, the company is widely rumoured to be debuting a fourth foldable phone and an entirely new category of wearable devices.

One of the biggest anticipated upgrades is a crease-less foldable OLED display, based on the technology Samsung Display showcased at CES 2026. The new panel would significantly reduce the visibility of the display crease, allowing Samsung to better compete with Chinese rivals that have made similar strides in foldable display technology.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is also rumoured to feature a new laser-drilled metal display plate beneath the foldable panel. According to reports, the redesigned component distributes the stress generated during repeated folding more evenly across the display, helping minimise crease formation and improve long-term durability.
