KAYA TOAST 😍 I had to give this traditional dish a go when in @Visit Singapore ! Is this the best place to get Kaya Toast?🧐 Kaya toast consists of Kaya spread (a sweet coconut & pandan spread) with a thick layer of butter in toast. It’s eaten with super soft boiled eggs and usually a coffee on the side! 🍞 It’s a traditional Malaysian and Singaporean dish, very common in cafes around Singapore! 🥥 I first headed to Heap Seng Leong to try it as this is one of the oldest and highest rated establishments. However I couldn’t bring myself to eat there as it was quite dirty 😭 I’m so sorry!!! I also realised it wasn’t halal certified nor were there any statements about it being halal-friendly so I took this as a sign to try elsewhere! I then visited @YaKunKayaToastSG who have a few branches- their Beach Road branch was nice with outdoor seating and it was close to my hotel @hericollsg and @masjidsultan 👌🏼 I orders Set A (S$6 / ~£3.50) with Kaya toast, soft eggs and a drink. They said coffee was their signature so I got that, but you can choose any drink 🥚 The coffee was actually nice and not too strong ☕️ I didn’t love the combo of the Kaya toast dipped in the eggs but I LOVED the Kaya toast itself. It was so good! With a lovely sweet coconut flavour and creaminess from the thick layer of butter 🧈 My only regret was not buying some Kaya spread to take home 😢 You have to check out Kaya Toast when in SG! 🤤 #halalfoodsingapore #kayatoast #yakunkayatoast
