Apple may have spared the current iPhone lineup from a price hike, but that could change with the next-generation iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
According to market research firm IDC, Apple is increasingly likely to raise the prices of its premium iPhones by up to US$200 (~S$258). The forecast comes as the company faces mounting pressure from soaring component costs, particularly amid the ongoing global memory chip shortage.
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max currently start at S$1,749 and S$1,899, respectively. Should IDC’s projection materialise, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup would break the S$2,000 barrier, with estimated starting prices of around S$2,007 for the base Pro and S$2,157 for the base Pro Max model.
