G-Shock celebrates Pokemon’s 30th anniversary

Meet the Casio GA-110PKM, a new limited-edition G-Shock created in collaboration with Pokmon to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary this year.

Based on the oversized GA-110, the new timepiece incorporates a range of subtle design touches inspired by the original Pokemon games that first launched on the Game Boy in 1996. The watch adopts the iconic red, green and blue colour palette from those titles, with matching accents across the bezel, buttons, dial and hands.

For me, the most eye-catching detail is the inset dial at the nine o’clock position, which resembles a Poke Ball. Completing the look is an indicator hand shaped like Pikachu, giving the otherwise rugged analogue-digital watch a playful twist.

Casio has also turned the strap into a tribute to Pokemon’s three-decade history. The specially designed band features artwork of 30 different Pokemons, including the three first partner Pokemons from every generation spanning the Kanto to Paldea regions, alongside Pikachu and Eevee. The band loop even features Mew.

The Pokemon references continue on the stainless steel case back, which is engraved with a special Pokemon 30th anniversary logo. Owners will also receive themed packaging, with an outer box featuring all 30 Pokemon while the watch itself is presented inside a Poke Ball-shaped case designed to double as a collectible.

Availability and pricing

The G-Shock GA-110PKM will launch in Singapore on 25 July and will be the only country in Southeast Asia to receive the watch, with purchases available exclusively to Casio-ID members. Casio has yet to announce local pricing.
