June has already been a massive month for video game announcements and reveals, from Summer Game Fest to Tribeca’s growing premiere festival. And now one of the world’s most beloved party games is getting in on the fun. Jackbox Games is putting out one of its most popular quiz games, Trivia Murder Party, as a standalone title. Best of all, you’ll be able to play it on pretty much every gaming platform out there. Trivia Murder Party 3 will come to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.
The vibes are decidedly slasher movie-meets-Sackboy: You’re heading to a lakeside summer camp run by your favorite serial murderer, and the stakes are life and death. Expect plenty of off-the-wall questions, luck and skill-based activities, and chances to sabotage your fellow players in order to become the final girl at the end of the round.
If you’re looking to get in on the fun right now, Trivia Murder Party 3 will have a demo as part of Steam Next Fest. According to the game’s Steam page, this marks something of a departure from the studio/publisher’s casual multiplayer past:
Jackbox Games is attempting to add true online multiplayer and matchmaking to this game, which would be a major first for our studio. We’d like to see if we can build and grow a meaningful multiplayer community, which also means supporting this title with regular new content, online features, and game modes over a multi-year roadmap.
