With temperatures reaching 35°C and humidity levels hovering around 80 per cent, there’s no denying that Singapore has been experiencing some seriously hot and humid days lately.
The sweltering weather has left many of us feeling sticky, restless and, at times, reluctant to step outside at all. So much so that some Singaporeans have taken to the internet to vent their frustrations about the seemingly unbearable heat.
“Google says it’s 31°C but feels like 38°C. It’s the first time I’ve ever felt this hot,” wrote one Redditor, who also wondered whether temperatures would continue to rise with the onset of El Niño.
Enter fellow Singaporeans who soon joined the discussion, sharing not only their frustrations about the heat but also the tricks they use to keep cool.
While some who previously slept without air-conditioning admitted that they’ve had to switch it on at night to stay comfortable, others have resorted to showering multiple times a day. One netizen even lamented that they were “scared to see the water bill” at the end of the month.
