Neither EA nor DICE has confirmed when fans will be able to jump into the highly anticipated Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6, but new leaks seemingly reaffirm that the studios intend to shadow drop its release with Season 1 on October 28. This release date had already been leaked by an industry insider earlier in the year, but now a Battlefield 6 data miner has uncovered evidence via the EA Play app that references a mysterious content drop for next week.
Season 1 of Battlefield 6 is set to go live next week, and while there has been no official word on a Battle Royale mode dropping with the patch, EA and DICE have revealed tons of information about the shooter’s new map, mode, weapons, and more. The season will be split into three major content updates, with the first set to arrive on October 28. The second, which will include another map for players to jump into, will then arrive on November 18, followed by the final major update of the season on December 9.
Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale May Arrive With Season 1
Back in September, industry insider ModernWarzone revealed that the potential release window for Battlefield 6‘s Battle Royale mode was the end of October. This date was then seemingly narrowed down to October 28 when EA revealed details about the game’s Season 1 update. While this information came from an anonymous source and has yet to be confirmed by EA, further evidence has now emerged from data miner Onebattlefield, who recently uncovered backend data from the EA Play app that references a content drop separate from Season 1, but for the same day: October 28.
It seems increasingly likely that the mode will be shadow-dropped on October 28, which would follow in the footsteps of Call of Duty: Warzone‘s launch in 2020, but fans should take this information with a pinch of salt until it is confirmed by EA or DICE. What has been revealed about the mode is that Battlefield 6‘s Battle Royale will offer a unique spin on the genre, with what EA calls the “deadliest ring in Battle Royale.” While games such as Warzone and Fortnite allow players to use the storm circle to their advantage, jumping in and out to catch opponents off guard, Battlefield 6‘s will kill players immediately upon contact.
A leak from earlier this week also revealed the game modes that Battlefield 6‘s Battle Royale may launch with. If the information is correct, fans can expect to find the usual Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads at launch, as well as a new Gauntlet mode that will see various squads complete a series of missions with the lowest-scoring team per mission eliminated. The last team standing will then be crowned the winners.
