Geralt of Rivia may have made his name on killing monsters. His successor is a monster. That much is clear in the latest trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker, revealed by developer Rebel Wolves during the 2026 Summer Game Fest showcase.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is an open-world action RPG set in a dark-fantasy version of 14th-century Europe. You play as a be-man-bunned dude named Coen, who’s adept with Medieval weaponry and appears to spend much of his time fighting malevolent creatures. If that sounds a lot like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Rebel Wolves is notably comprised of ex-Witcher developers.
The Summer Game Fest trailer showed Coen’s initial infection — seemingly by Temu Knight King — followed by shots of Coen himself attacking regular humans. Gotta feed the beast. Coen then gets up to all sorts of vampire hijinks, including running across rooftops, teleporting short distances (let’s hear it for Blink), exploding walking human husks with his mind, and sword-fighting a giant alligator…slug…thing.
