[Tian Tian – Maxwell Food Centre] Dropped by the legendary Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice — once crowned as one of Singapore’s most famous hawker icons. Founded in the 1980s, this stall helped define what silky poached chicken and fragrant rice should taste like, drawing queues that wrapped around Maxwell Food Centre for decades. But times have changed. The ginger paste, dark sweet sauce, and soup that traditionally complete a chicken rice set are no longer provided, and the rice has lost some of its signature aroma that used to set Tian Tian apart. It’s still a nostalgic stop, but with many newer stalls now matching — or even surpassing — that benchmark, the competition has truly caught up. #TianTianChickenRice #MaxwellFoodCentre #SingaporeFoodie #HainaneseChickenRice #HawkerHeritage
