Kishimoto Confirms The Death Of One Of The Uzumaki Family In Boruto

This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is getting more intense, as the battles against the Shinju rage on. In the previous arc of the series, fans got to witness the incredible fight between Sarada Uchiha and Ryu, which was then followed by Matsuri’s death following the confrontation with Konohamaru Sarutobi, being finished by Boruto Uzumaki. While two of the Shinju are officially down, the fact is that three powerful ones still remain, and just their existence itself means that there exists a ton of danger for the main characters of the series.

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 27, Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto officially confirmed to the fans a major upcoming death in the story. According to Kashin Koji, Himawari Uzumaki is set to die in the future, likely at the hands of the Shinju, in Boruto. He saw this future with his prescience ability. How exactly Himawari died isn’t really clear just yet, but what can be said for sure is that it had something to do with Jura. After her death, Inojin Yamanaka, who seems to be in love with Himawari, developed a completely new Jutsu to avenge her. While Himawari most certainly is going to die if nothing changes, the protagonists of the ongoing arc are there to change the future itself, which means the entire timeline will be altered itself and Himawari Uzumaki will eventually survive.

  • Koji’s prescience is a precious weapon

As shocking as it may sound to fans, it was officially confirmed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 27 that in one of the main timelines of the story, Himawari Uzumaki was killed off, likely by the Shinju, who are known to be the main villain group in the series right now. The implication is that it was Jura who killed her after he made a move on Konoha. Kashin Koji used his prescience technique to see this future and as he did so, he also went on to figure out ways to avoid this future.

According to Kashin Koji, Himawari’s fall affected Inojin Yamanaka greatly, and he devised a powerful technique to avenge her. This technique is an advanced form of the Mind-Body Transfer technique, and while the full details haven’t been revealed yet, it’ll be interesting to see what Inojin Yamanaka comes up with.

It must also be remembered that Kashin Koji seeing a future where Himawari Uzumaki dies is a given. After all, the Shinju are almost impossible to fully beat and Koji himself stated that there is a 1 in a million chance to beat Jura. With that said, most futures likely result in the death of the Shinobi kind, as unbelievable as that might sound.

That said, all these futures can be avoided by taking drastically different steps leading up to them, or by striking preemptively. That’s exactly what Koji and Boruto’s team are doing right now.
