BYD is expanding its lineup of plug-in hybrids in Singapore with the new Seal 6 DM-i. It’s available in sedan and estate body styles, with prices starting from S$191,888.
Let’s start with the sedan. This is available in two variants: Dynamic and Premium. If you have deep enough pockets, it’s worth ponying up for the Premium version because it gets more power, a larger battery, faster charging, and features like electric folding mirrors, sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, front ventilated seats, an 8-speaker sound system, and more. The estate version is called the Touring and is only available in Premium trim.
The Seal 6 DM-i will also be available as an estate.

In terms of power, the Premium version offers 219hp and 260nm of torque, while the Dynamic version serves up 174hp and 210nm of torque. Both versions are front-wheel-drive only and are powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated motor that’s paired with an electric motor.
