UCS Death Star II #10143

This is an oldie, but a goodie. Released over 20 years ago, the 10143 Death Star II was, at the time of its release, the largest LEGO set ever. It consists of 3,449 pieces and pays homage to the second Death Star. This explains why it looks partially completed. To illustrate just how big the Death Star is, the set came with a mini Super Star Destroyer. Curiously, however, it did not come with any minifigures. Even so, this was the must-have set for any diehard LEGO Star Wars collector. 

Unfortunately, this set has been discontinued for a while now and can only be found on online marketplaces.

Death Star #75419

The LEGO 75419 UCS Death Star is notable for its playability and its sheer size. Launched late last year, it consists of a staggering 9,023 pieces (making it the largest Star Wars LEGO set ever) and came with a whopping 38 minifigures, including the very first minifig versions of Admiral Motti, General Tagge, an Imperial Dignitary, and Galen Erso. They even threw in the fan-favourite “Hot Tub Stormtrooper” from the LEGO Star Wars video games, The Complete Saga and The Skywalker Saga. For movie buffs, the set was amazing, featuring six levels that recreated classic Star Wars scenes, like the trash compactor, Princess Leia’s holding cell, and the Emperor’s throne room.

Jabba’s Sail Barge #75397

This iconic sail barge was Jabba the Hutt’s luxury transport, which he used to travel over the Dune Sea and to get to the Great Pit of Carkoon, where the Sarlacc lived. The Khetanna, as it was named, was destroyed after the scene in Return of the Jedi, but it lives on in this Ultimate Collector Series LEGO set, which consists of a whopping 3,943 pieces and 11 minifigures.

The side doors of the barge can open up to show scenes like Jabba on his throne with C-3PO and R2-D2 beside him, or where Bib Fortuna is in the kitchen. There’s even a Princess Leia minifigure with her depicted in her iconic slave outfit, and you’ll be able to position her on the upper deck with the turret cannon. 

The entire barge is over 77cm long, so you’ll have to make sure to clear some space for the set before you start building.

Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser #75367

The Venator-class Star Destroyer first appeared on screen in Revenge of the Sith in 2005. This LEGO version is the first time it has received the UCS treatment, much to the joy of fans of this Clone Wars-era ship. Its standard of accuracy and detail, such as the dark red stripe across the hull and the twin medium dual turbolasers with accurate bracing bars between the barrels, are often cited by fans as particular highlights.

As for minifigures, this set includes Captain Rex of the 501st Legion and Admiral Wullf Yularen. Notably, Captain Rex is exclusive to this set. Captain Rex is one of the most beloved characters from The Clone Wars animated series, making his inclusion here a significant draw. Plus, the display stand with a plaque makes it more about being a flagship display piece than a mere toy.

Millennium Falcon #75192

Ask any Star Wars fan what the most recognisable starship of the franchise is, and most people would probably say it’s the Millennium Falcon. LEGO has made various versions of the Falcon, but the latest – the UCS Millennium Falcon 75192 – is arguably the best.

To start, it’s one of the biggest Star Wars LEGO sets ever made. It consists of 7,541 pieces and, unsurprisingly, the level of detail is remarkable. Furthermore, you even get seven minifigurines, ranging from young Han Solo and Princess Leia, to Rey, Finn and BB-8 from the sequel trilogy. 

Some features that are bound to please fans are the removable outer panels, which open to allow fans to recreate scenes like Han Solo and Princess Leia’s first kiss. Another nice touch is the central cabin area where Chewbacca and C-3PO can sit around the holochess table.

Imperial Star Destroyer #75252

There’s a good reason the LEGO 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer (UCS) is often mentioned when Star Wars and LEGO fans talk about standout LEGO sets. That’s because this set focuses on one thing: recreating the Star Destroyer as accurately as possible, and at a large scale. At just over a metre in length, the 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer commands a strong presence on any shelf and will certainly kickstart Star Wars conversations when friends visit.

With its wedge-shaped profile, layered armour plating, and dense surface detailing, the design of this set is based on the ship as seen in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. These details aren’t just decorative; they follow the original design closely, so the model always looks consistent from any angle.

The internal structure is also worth noting. For a set of this size, stability matters, and LEGO uses a reinforced Technic-style frame to support the outer panels. This keeps the model from bending or sagging over time, which happened with the original 10030 set – a common issue with large builds.

As a display piece, there’s no parallel to this Star Destroyer set – maybe the 75192 Millennium Falcon comes close. It comes with a stand, a nameplate, and a small Tantive IV model to show just how big an Imperial Star Destroyer is.

UCS AT-AT #75313

The 75313 AT-AT (UCS) is based on the All Terrain Armored Transport as seen in The Empire Strikes Back, and it’s a beast of a LEGO set. Consisting of 6,785 pieces and standing at around 62cm tall, the AT-AT is massive. The set’s design team had to reinforce the legs so that it could stand securely without collapsing under its own weight. Remarkably, the legs can be slightly adjusted to change their stance without collapsing. Since large LEGO builds tend to be fragile, this Star Wars set is impressively balanced and solid.

What’s interesting is that, for a scaled model, there’s still a fair amount you can interact with. The side panels open up to reveal a detailed troop bay with seating for snowtroopers, space for speeder bikes, and even room for an E-Web cannon. You can also pose the AT-AT legs and reposition the head. It doesn’t turn into a full-on playset, but at least it’s more than just a mere display piece.

It’s this combination of features that makes the 75313 AT-AT so easy to recommend. It’s large and incredibly detailed, but it doesn’t lose sight of how some LEGO sets are meant to be played with.
