Singapore’s CNA caught in Facebook storm over comment allegedly slamming establishment, Mediacorp lodges police report

SINGAPORE, Oct 19 — Mediacorp has lodged a police report in Singapore after a Facebook comment criticising the establishment was allegedly posted from the official Channel NewsAsia (CNA) account, The Straits Times reported on Friday.

Singapore’s national media network and largest content broadcaster said the report was filed to “help verify the screenshot’s authenticity and origin” after the image began circulating online on Thursday.

The comment read: “Typical playbook — talking to their base, rally their troops and generals but their real target is actually to corner and neutralise the WP.”
