Singapore plans to equip at least 10,000 students over the next five years with skills in physical AI, a rapidly growing frontier where artificial intelligence is embedded into robots, drones, and autonomous machines rather than confined to screens.
Backed by the National Robotics Program (NRP) and scheduled to roll out from mid-2026, the initiative will span all education levels, from primary schools to universities in collaboration with LionsBot, a Singapore-founded robotics company specializing in autonomous cleaning solutions.
According to the NRP’s official LinkedIn account, the program will offer students early exposure to the full lifecycle of physical AI systems.
From research and design to manufacturing and global deployment, students will shift beyond basic coding to tackle real-world challenges through hackathons and industry-linked projects.
