On the back of its successful Viper V3 Pro mouse, Razer has announced its successor, the (you guessed it) Viper V4 Pro. Building on its predecessor’s esports credentials, the gaming peripherals company has made some safe but welcomed hardware improvements to the mouse.
Spec bumps for the Viper V4 Pro
The internals of the Viper V4 Pro, including its sensor, switches and HyperSpeed Wireless platform, have been updated.

One headlining change is the implementation of HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2. With HyperSpeed Wireless being a staple of the company’s products for the past couple of years, promised improvements with its second generation include shorter click and motion latency at a polling rate of 8000Hz – 0.204ms and 0.36ms, respectively. Battery life is also improved, at up to 180 hours of battery life at a 1000Hz polling rate.
These are upgrades even compared to the DeathAdder V4 Pro (read our review of that here), which was the first of Razer’s mice to feature HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2. The mean click latency is also half that of HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-1.
Other spec bumps include the new Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3. It’s a mouthful of a name, but as it suggests, it ups the maximum DPI to 50K, up from the 35K of the Viper V3 Pro (though we’re not sure how many people were already hitting that DPI to begin with). Winning features of the previous sensor, including 1-dpi adjustment increments and asymmetric lift-off and landing distances, can also be found, all done through Razer Synapse.
