Authorities will study how older buildings and spaces beneath viaducts can be retrofitted into sports facilities over the next five years. One example is at Farrer Park, where a bus terminal doubles as pickleball courts for most of the week before reverting to its transport role on Sundays. The initiative supports plans to add 50 multi-purpose courts for badminton and pickleball islandwide, with the goal of placing affordable sports facilities within a 10-minute walk of most homes by 2030.
