If you’re looking for a truly unique dining experience in Singapore, you have to visit Sek Tong Gai. Located on the second floor of the 31 Commonwealth Crescent Market & Food Centre, this place is a hidden gem that requires a bit of planning. The Review The Experience: This is a one-man operation. The owner does everything himself, and it’s a self-service setup—you’ll even get a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. The Crab Bee Hoon: For $70, you get a whole crab, and it’s absolutely worth it. The broth is rich, full of flavor, and packed with umami. The crab meat is incredibly fresh and comes off the shell with ease. The Sweet and Sour Pork: This is a notch above your standard version. It’s crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and has a perfect balance of sweet and sour. The Claypot Chinese Spinach: A special order featuring dried scallops and dried shrimp in a sweet, clear broth. The spinach was super fresh and the vermicelli (tang hoon) absorbed all that delicious sweetness. Pro tip: Make sure you’re sitting under one of the big fans in the food centre. It makes a huge difference and ensures a much more comfortable dining experience while you’re enjoying your meal. 📍31 Commonwealth Cres, 02-076 Singapore stall, Singapore 149644 #VisualDiaryOfATravellingGlutton #FoodTok #food #Foodie #sg
