Urivar is one of the boss enemies players need to fight in Diablo 4. Not only is he a part of the Vessel of Hatred expansion’s story, but he is also a respawning lair boss who can be farmed for powerful loot in the endgame. Urivar isn’t particularly difficult to fight, though he is special in a couple of ways.
If you’re looking for specific loot, or if you just want to knock out some seasonal challenges in Diablo 4, you’ll have to fight Urivar to do so. Here’s what you need to do and where you need to go to fight him.
Best Hammer of the Ancients Barbarian Build in Diablo 4 (Season 11)
Leap, stomp, and slam to your heart’s content with this hybrid Brawler and Hammer of the Ancient build for Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 Urivar Location
You can find Urivar in the Fields of Judgement, his dedicated boss lair found in the northeastern highlands of Nahantu. If you’re playing Diablo 4 with a seasonal character who skipped the story, Urivar’s lair will be immediately visible to you, and you can teleport directly to it too, but only if you’re on Torment 1 difficulty or above.
Since Urivar is directly tied to Vessel of Hatred, you may need to own the expansion in order to fight him.
How to Get Judicator’s Masks
Upon reaching Torment difficulty, players will be able to fight Urivar in Diablo 4 at any time. However, if you want to claim any of the sweet loot in his dedicated loot table, you’ll need to get 12 Judicator’s Masks first.
Judicator’s Masks can be obtained in a variety of ways, but the most reliable source of masks is the Kurast Undercity, which is also a part of the Vessel of Hatred expansion. Finishing an Undercity run should yield a few Judicator’s Masks, and you’ll get even more (plus a bunch of other boss materials) if you use a Tribute of Titans at the Spirit Brazier before starting a run.
Urivar Boss Fight Tips
If your Diablo 4 build isn’t strong enough to instantly delete Urivar the moment the battle begins, then you’ll need to pay extra attention to his moves. He can be a bit of a pain at first, but once you understand how he fights, he should be a bit easier to face.
- Use Elixirs to boost your stats.
- Circle around the edge of the arena when dodging attacks, but try not to touch his troops.
- When he starts raining swords down, try to group the swords tightly together. This makes them easier to dodge later.
- Always pay attention to Urivar’s sword and how he’s holding/swinging it.
- If all else fails, come back stronger so you won’t have to deal with his attacks.
