iRobot, the company behind the Roomba robot vacuum cleaners, has filed for bankruptcy protection.
In its official statement, iRobot stated it has entered a Restructuring Support Agreement (RSA) with its primary contract manufacturer, Shenzhen Picea Robotics Co., Ltd (also known as Picea).
Under the agreement, Picea will acquire iRobot through a court-supervised process and receive 100% of iRobot’s equity interests. This also means Picea now wholly owns iRobot, and iRobot is no longer listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
