Heavy rain on the afternoon of Dec. 12 triggered flash floods in several parts of Johor Bahru. The downpour also caused a stage being set up for the launch of a major event at Dataran Bandaraya later that night to collapse. According to The Sun Daily, the collapsed structure was the main stage prepared for the Visit Johor 2025 launch and the Malaysia Cultural Festival. The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued weather advisories on Facebook warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across several parts of the country, including Johor. MetMalaysia added that a monsoon surge and associated heavy rain are expected to persist until Dec. 18, 2025. #news #malaysia #fypsg #fypmalaysia #weather
