In a Facebook post, Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said he was taking steps to “return power to the people”. The dissolution of parliament means that elections must be held within 45 to 60 days. The move comes after the opposition People’s Party expressed its intention to submit a no-confidence vote against Anutin on Friday (Dec. 12). It also follows days of escalating tension at the Thai-Cambodian border, threatening a U.S.-brokered peace deal. Image via AFP. #news #fyp #thailand
