Many profile badges on Roblox will be going away in 2026, and some fans are worried that the feature will be eliminated altogether. Official messages from Roblox staff seem chipper and optimistic about the upcoming changes, but the response from the players has been anything but happy.
With more than 151 million daily players and 381 million active monthly users around the world, Roblox is still an incredibly active platform for online gaming in 2025. Some of the most popular games on Roblox have accrued all-time session numbers in the billions, with Brookhaven RP topping the all-time charts at 75.4 billion and games like Blox Fruits, Steal a Brainrot, and Adopt Me all surpassing the 40-billion milestone marker.

Roblox Fans Shouldn’t Get Too Attached to Their Profile Badges
But one feature that has been with Roblox since its launch in September 2006 will be going away, likely before the platform hits its 20th anniversary. The game’s developers have announced via the official Roblox forum that many System Badges will be removed from profiles sometime in early 2026. The badges that are set for removal are no longer attainable by players, and according to the announcement, “they don’t reflect the ways users and creators express themselves today.” The announcement goes on to justify these badges’ removal by stating that it will help developers to “simplify the Profile experience” and add some room for additional features to be added to Roblox profiles in the future.
While these changes will cause the elimination of legacy System Badges, the official word from the developers states that other badges will still be accessible and will still show up on users’ profiles. The badges that have not been announced for deletion include Developer-Awarded Badges that players can earn from playing individual games, official Verification Badges, and Administrator Badges that identify the profiles of official Roblox staff accounts. Replacing the System Badges will be features that are currently in the planning stages, although they will need to go through a testing process before the team is ready to release them to the public. Furthermore, the development team intends to use these upcoming features to allow each player to showcase their unique “user identity and creator presence.”
But fans don’t seem very certain about the upcoming changes, and there is an air of uneasiness in the community that the change will lead to the eventual elimination of all profile badges and a loss of personal identity. Though it won’t go into effect until at least a few weeks in the future, many fans are calling out Roblox‘s leadership for what they preemptively believe to be a bad decision, with one commenting via Reddit, “There is NO WAY they aren’t trying to remove all charm at this point.” Others fear that additional changes may be coming to remove even more personalized aspects from the platform’s experience. While Roblox cosmetic item price inflation has been a problem players have faced for many years, some are now nervous that avatar customization will face similar restrictions to the ones announced for user profiles.
