The Sopranos Complete Series Box Set Drops To Lowest Price Ever

The Sopranos: The Complete Series is on sale for only $49.49 at Amazon and Walmart. The Blu-ray box set has been in print since June 2020, and this is the first time it has dipped below $50. If you’re buying the box set as a gift for a Sopranos fan, you’ll want to grab the deal from Walmart. At the time of writing, Amazon estimates new orders won’t be delivered until after Christmas. It’s unclear when this limited-time deal ends, so snag a copy while you can.

The Sopranos is also available on DVD, but it’s actually five bucks more expensive than the Blu-ray set due to the current deal.

The Sopranos premiered on HBO in 1999 and ended in 2007 after six seasons. The series follows the lives of mob boss Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) and his family. Tony Soprano is one of the most compelling characters ever written for TV. The show depicts his struggle to balance the weight of his role as a mob boss and his life as a husband and father. The Sopranos makes a mob boss relatable, which is a big reason why it’s such a fascinating story to watch. The series won 21 Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes.

Widely considered one of the best television series ever made, The Sopranos is arguably the most influential TV series this century. It kicked off the new golden age of prestige TV and inspired the trend of centering shows around deeply flawed antiheroes. The success of The Sopranos paved the way for HBO’s other early 2000s crime drama masterpiece: The Wire. David Simon’s Baltimore-based police drama ran for five seasons from 2002-2008. The Wire is often listed at the very top on lists of the best television series of all time. Coincidentally, The Wire: The Complete Series on Blu-ray is on sale for roughly the same price ($50.49). The Wire: The Complete Series on DVD is discounted to only $35.41.

A Sopranos prequel movie titled The Many Saints of Newark released in 2021. The 4K Blu-ray edition is available for $22.49 (was $28), and the standard 1080p Blu-ray is only $9.
