If you’re a fan of FPV drones, a new maker is entering the scene, and it’s one with a familiar pedigree. Antigravity, a company incubated by the makers of Insta360, has officially stepped into the drone market with its first compact drone, the Antigravity A1. The drone positions itself as an alternative to DJI’s growing lineup, but instead of competing head-on with traditional quadcopters, the company is carving out its own niche by combining immersive FPV flight with Insta360’s 360-degree imaging expertise.
At just 249g, the A1 falls neatly under the 250g regulatory threshold in many countries, including Singapore. This means the drone does not need to be registered with the CAAS before flying, making it a convenient option for casuals and frequent flyers. The lightweight build is largely due to its mostly plastic construction, though Antigravity compensates by making the lenses and propellers replaceable for pilots who occasionally misjudge a turn or bump into obstacles during flight.
The drone uses a grip controller similar to those found in VR headsets.

Where the A1 really differentiates itself is in its flight experience. Instead of the usual standard dual-stick controller found on most drones, Antigravity pairs the A1 with a Grip motion controller and Vision Goggles for flight. The controller translates hand movements into flight paths, letting you point to steer, while the goggles, which are equipped with pancake optics and dual 1-inch Micro-OLED displays, mirror your head movements in real time. It aims to create an intuitive and immersive experience that lowers the learning curve for beginners without locking out experienced FPV pilots, who can switch back to classic FPV mode whenever they want.
