Pokemon Gen 10 Leaks Ride Mechanics, Scrapped Features, New Image

This article contains possible spoilers for Pokemon Gen 10

Pokemon Gen 10 leaks detail the games’ signature ride mechanic alongside a new image, and several features, including MMO-like ones, are reportedly scrapped. With the massive information drop from the TeraLeak last year, fans assumed that leaks for Pokemon Gen 10 and future games would be out of the question, but early in October, plenty of new information surfaced online. Since these leaks are all from the same source, even including official documents from GameFreak’s internal development plans, it seems like the next set of games for the series already have many features made public.

Although it’s unclear what the Pokemon Gen 10 starters will be, as the only leaks regarding them have to do with how players will get their first partner Pokemon, there have been several other meaningful leaks, like:

Though these were considered trustworthy leaks due to their being part of the pitch for Gen 10 games, it appears that the current build of the games has already changed significantly in various ways. No mention has been made regarding the title of Gen 10 as Pokemon Wind and Wave, but some of the previous leaks may no longer hold true.

Images shared online reportedly give players an early look at what the tenth generation of Pokemon games will be like when they launch.

Take a First Look at Pokemon Gen 10’s Ride Mechanic

Exploring the worlf in Pokemon Violet

If true, Centro Leaks shared a new Gen 10 image on Twitter showing what seems to be a Pokemon trainer using the new Rotom Scooter, similarly to Pokemon Gen 8’s Rotom Bike. This tool will allegedly be used to travel across the map on land, and it can be attached to Pokemon that have a so-called “energy leash,” which will let the Rotom Scooter gain those creatures’ traversal powers. Flying Pokemon will let the Rotom Scooter fly and glide, Water Pokemon will let it ride the waves or even go underwater, and so on.

On top of that, some previous leaks are allegedly no longer accurate, as Pokemon Gen 10’s mechanics and scope have since changed. Centro Leaks states that:

  • Pokemon Gen 10 was originally made of exploration, MMO-like mechanics, and procedural generation.

  • Pokemon Gen 10’s ride mechanic won’t be available for all Pokemon, like previously stated, and Pokemon themselves won’t be ridden.

    • No mention of the ability to pet all Pokemon has been made.
  • Pokemon Gen 10’s leaked build includes a bag pocket for Mega Stones, indicating that Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s Mega Evolutions may return outside of Pokemon Champions. No Mega Stones were in the build, though.

It’s unclear at this stage what else may change or may have changed already, but it seems that the setting and titles will stay, and so will the core mechanics of the Weather Moves and the Switch 2 exclusivity. Those same leaks state that no Gyms will be present and that players would technically be able to encounter the final “boss” of the game immediately after leaving the first island, thus being able to roll credits and “beat” the game early. However, it seems that procedural generation for islands and the leaked “Seed Pokemon” won’t be in Gen 10, and the MMO-like features won’t either.
