New Solo Leveling Game Is Off to a Strong Start on Steam

Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive peaked at nearly 13,000 concurrent Steam players over the final weekend of November 2025. The figure marks the game’s sixth concurrent user record on Valve’s storefront in the last week, indicating that the co-op RPG is not only off to a strong start but is actually still picking up steam on Steam.

Arise Overdrive is a four-player co-op action RPG based on Solo Leveling, a popular fantasy web novel turned anime. Developed and published by South Korean gaming giant Netmarble, it was originally unveiled during the June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase and released for PC in late November, with its console ports being planned to arrive at a later date.

On the morning of November 30 (ET), Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive reached 12,839 concurrent PC players, according to SteamDB data sourced from Valve’s API. The figure marks an all-time engagement record for the co-op RPG—its sixth in seven days. Compared to Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive‘s November 24 launch day peak of 10,440 players, the November 30 milestone represents a 22% increase.

While far from unprecedented, a six-day player increase isn’t the industry norm. As far as Valve’s storefront is concerned, most Steam games tend to peak early and then trail off, with subsequent popularity spikes largely correlated with big content updates, excluding outliers that go viral long after launch. Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive‘s consistent growth during its launch week may have been partly influenced by Netmarble’s decision to release the game on a Monday, maximizing the opportunity to build word of mouth ahead of its first weekend, which is typically the period of highest engagement for new Steam titles.

All of that is to say that sustaining its current level of player engagement into a second consecutive week may prove significantly more challenging. Regardless, the game’s current momentum underscores the strength of the Solo Leveling franchise, which now spans five distinct media formats. In terms of other data points, an average of estimates from VG Insights, PlayTracker, and Gamalytic places Arise Overdrive’s first-week sales at approximately 127,000 units. According to November 30 data from SteamDB, it ranked as the 33rd best-selling title on Valve’s storefront that day. A more optimistic indicator of future performance is its wishlist activity, where it placed fourth after gaining 15,615 wishlists over the past seven days. While wishlists are not a direct predictor of sales, they serve as a strong signal of player interest, a factor closely tied to commercial potential.

Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive Launch Week Steam Sales Estimates

Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive can likely count on at least one sales spike in the foreseeable future, driven by its upcoming console ports. Netmarble previously confirmed that the co-op ARPG is in development for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with plans to release on those platforms sometime in 2026. Since the PC original had its release date announced just 10 weeks in advance, there’s still a chance that the console ports could materialize in the first half of 2026.

In the meantime, Netmarble Neo is working on updating Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive with bug fixes and improvements based on early player feedback. Its latest patch rolled out on November 28, increasing rewards for Chapter 1–10 Gates, expanding the Exchange Shop with weapons, and refining various UI elements, among many other novelties. Moving forward, the South Korean studio also intends to make the game less grindy and add more opportunities to acquire Hunters, as recently revealed by Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive Executive Producer Gwanghun Kim.
