Singapore to grant one-off property tax rebate for 2026

[SINGAPORE] The government will give a one-off property tax rebate in 2026, to cushion property tax increases for owner-occupiers of both public and private housing.

Owner-occupiers of Housing & Development Board (HDB) flats will get a tax rebate of 15 per cent, while private residential owner-occupiers will get a 10 per cent rebate capped at S$500.

This will help to cushion property tax increases for Singaporeans, amid a moderating residential rental market with modest increases in market rents, said the Ministry of Finance and Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Iras) on Friday (Nov 28).

The rebate will be automatically offset against any property tax payable in the owners’ 2026 property tax bill.
