A new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has fixed one of its most controversial problems pertaining to the shooter’s new Endgame mode. Prior to the most recent update, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players were experiencing an incredibly frustrating issue that resulted in them losing progress if they were unexpectedly disconnected. Developer Treyarch Studios says it has now added a new protection feature to prevent players from losing massive amounts of progress, which appears to have pleased much of the community.
With the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 earlier this month, Treyarch Studios continued to evolve the franchise with another new mode for players to jump into: Endgame. It’s unclear whether or not this mode will be available in all new titles moving forward, but it has given players even more content to check out this year. For those who might be unaware, Endgame is a new PvE extraction-style mode that allows players to jump into Avalon with 31 other players and complete objectives, secure gear, and then exfil. What fans have grown to love about the mode is that it’s a great way to level up their weapons and progress through challenges without the need to grind out Multiplayer or Zombies.

Black Ops 7 Adds Disconnect Protection to Endgame
While Call of Duty: Black Ops 7‘s new Endgame mode has received a positive reception from fans, a serious issue has been causing significant frustration for the community. Previously, players who were suddenly disconnected from Endgame were losing massive amounts of progression, but a new update has now added an additional layer of protection that should make this problem a thing of the past. Developer Treyarch Studios says the game will now snapshot a player’s Combat Rating when they jump into a match of Endgame, and if an unexpected disconnect does occur, players will begin their next match at the Combat Rating that they entered their previous match in. However, as this is an extraction-based mode, players will still lose their progress if they fail to exfil during a match.
This was a major problem for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players, as many reported losing large numbers of Combat Rating levels due to accidental disconnections. One Reddit user even claimed they lost their level 60 Combat Rating after their Wi-Fi disconnected while they were still in a match. The player says they lost hours of progress and notes that it was unfair to be punished for something beyond their control. Another user even said they were kicked back to the lobby three times in a single day, resetting their Combat Rating to 0 each time.
So it’s no surprise that fans are thrilled to see Treyarch implement this change as part of the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 update. “Thank you guys so much,” one fan responded. They explained how they live in South Africa and have regular power cuts, meaning they experience disconnects much more than the average player. Another player said they were “consistently worried” that this would be a frequent problem after it happened to them, but praised Treyarch for the prompt fix.
