1. Wild Wild Wet

Thrill-seekers will be, well, thrilled to discover that this water park features some of the steepest water slides in Singapore. Their Free-Fall water slide is aptly named as it is Singapore’s first near-vertical drop water slide. Another heart-stopper is the Torpedo, in which a door gives way below your feet, sending you plunging at speeds of up to 70km/h.

Of course, water park staples such as a lazy river and tsunami wave pool are also available here. We recommend bringing some friends along as some rides such as the Royal Flush and Ular-Lah raft slide require up to 4 people in a float. Don’t worry if you can’t meet the headcount, as you’ll be paired with fellow park-goers – who knows, you might even make a new friend.

2. Splash-N-Surf

Many know Kallang Wave Mall as that mall with the rock climbing wall in its centre – but it’s also home to Splash-N-Surf, a free water park in Singapore for little ones. The Kids Pool’s just 0.6m deep, a comfortable height for younger children to safely swim. There’s even a carousel with cute buckets that serve as seats for them to dangle their feet off.

The more daring kids can head to the 2-storey water playground at the Water Play Area. You’ll find slides of varying heights here, as well as whimsical water spouts that pitter-patter from above.

Once the kids have worn themselves out, grab a buoy and take in the city skyline as you float effortlessly down the Lazy River ($2/entry) together. Do note that children below the age of 12 – or shorter than 1.2m – will require adult supervision in the river.

3. Adventure Cove Waterpark

A trusty option Singaporeans can rely on for a day away from the heat is Adventure Cove Waterpark. This massive water park in Sentosa features 13 rides and attractions in total, so there’s definitely enough to do for a whole day.

Speed junkies can go for the Riptide Rocket, a hydro-magnetic roller coaster that’ll put you through a series of twists, turns, and heart-stopping plunges. Afterwards, race your partner-in-crime down the Dueling Racer, where you’ll each hop onto mats and rush down face-first on a dual-lane water slide.

If you just want to chill, drift down the Adventure River as you sink into your buoys. Get transported to 14 themed zones, including a see-through underwater tunnel. Should you want to get a closer look at Nemo and friends, head over to the Rainbow Reef to snorkel amongst vividly-coloured marine life.

4. Aqua Adventure

If you find yourself hightailing to the slides and re-queueing for multiple runs at water parks, then look no further than Aqua Adventure. This indoor water park at HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir houses Singapore’s longest indoor water slide, which measures 114m long.

Grab a buddy and get on the record-setting Double Trouble Slide. This long ride swooshes around multiple curves before spitting you out into a 1.2m-deep Laze Pool.

Then, if you can’t get enough of the swirls and twirls, go solo on the Black Hole Slide. The 84m-long slide lives up to its name, with the majority of the ride taking place in pitch-black darkness.

For a breather, rest atop the floating platforms at the Laze Pool, before jumping back into the action at the Aqua Course where 8 obstacles await. Once you’ve donned the appropriate safety gear, take on balance beams, rickety bridges and platforms suspended in the air. Cheeky friends can also rain down buckets of water to make the course harder, but don’t say we tell you one ah.

Once you’ve had your fill of the water-related attractions, there are also dry activities such as a couple of rock climbing walls at the Clockwork Tower fitted with wacky grips like cogs and clocks. In Singapore’s unpredictable weather, sheltered options for a day out are always welcome. With Splash @ Kidz Amaze, no weather can put a damper on your young’uns’ mood as it’s an indoor water park.

The place spans a massive 23,000sqft, with its main draw being the 3-storey play area. Here, an interconnected mash of 5 slides and 8 play decks are waiting to be explored. Expect large and winding tube slides, water sprinklers galore, and water buckets that fill up and tip over.

Even the littlest of kids can have fun in the shallow wading pool for toddlers. They can play amongst mini fountains, or whoosh down a pint-sized slide.

6. Causeway Point Water Playground

Another fun retreat nestled within a mall is the Causeway Point Water Playground. Aspiring archaeologists will rejoice, as it’s themed after dinosaurs. Little ones can meet a wide cast of critters here, from the 2 huge pterodactyls and brontosaurus to cute hatchlings popping out of their eggs.

A towering volcano looms over the playground, but don’t worry, this one periodically spews water instead. 2 slides – 1 dry and 1 wet – flank the volcano, and kids can even enter the back of the volcano to discover embedded fossils within the walls. We suggest visiting the playground at night to see the volcano illuminated, mimicking an actual eruption.

There are also fun photo ops such as a 2.2m-tall ribcage anchored to the ground as a prehistoric backdrop – and a set of hand drums and an enlarged xylophone, should the children want to have a go at some beats.

7. Splash Tribe Beach Club

Following the trend of fancy new attractions popping up in Sentosa, one that’s fun for the whole family is the Splash Tribe Beach Club.

Kids and adults alike can have a whale of a time at the beach club’s sandcastle-themed water playground in Singapore. The towering sandcastle fort serves as the platform for 2 different types of slides; a longer, looping tube slide and 3 open-air slides to race down. They can also wage war amongst themselves with mounted water guns, while water cones overhead rain down unexpectedly.

A 1.2m-deep infinity pool overlooking Palawan Beach also awaits those who prefer to take in the oceanic view away from the splashing. For parents, sun beds and loungers are also on site should you prefer to catch up on a good book while basking in the sun. If that’s not enough, 2-storey gazebos provide an eagle’s eye view of your frolicking children while you munch on some poolside grub.

8. Splish Splash at KidzWorld

There’s more to Singapore Zoo than just visiting the animals – if you’ve got tots, you’ll want to stop by the zoo’s wet play area, Splish Splash at KidzWorld.

It’s reminiscent of the zoo’s previous Rainforest at KidzWorld, but this one has more interactive zones, like a water maze with a control panel that adjusts the pressure of the jets. The place is also decked with colourful arches and jets that spout water, making for adorable photo ops for the fam.

When you’re done, there are free showers and changing rooms right next to the water park for you to freshen up.

9. Oasis Waterpark at Nee Soon East

You wouldn’t expect to find a water park in the middle of the heartlands, but that’s what we have at Oasis Waterpark at Nee Soon East. Located just behind Northpoint City and spanning 5,600sqm, it’s considerably the largest, free community water park in Singapore.

With all that space, this park has its fair share of play zones – 3 to be exact. They’ve got water guns, slides made to look like pirate ships, and a water curtain and tipping buckets to stand under to get completely soaked. There’s also a shallow pool suitable for kids aged 2-12, but adults, don’t feel like you can’t wade through with your kiddos.

When play time is up, there are showers and toilets to change in. Plus, plenty of vending machines to grab a snack or drink to replenish depleted energy.

10. Happy Park at Waterway Point

Open till 7pm daily

Most water parks in Singapore are for daytime use only, but Happy Park at Waterway Point opens till 7pm daily. So, if your little ones are feeling the heat even after the sun has set, have them cool off in the water park here. No worries about not being able to see; the park lights up with LED lights after dark.

That aside, Happy Park has fountains and gentle jet sprays that are suitable for younger ones. Older kids can run about the shallow pools and the lily pad-shaped stepping stones for more thrill.

11. HydroDash

First inflatable water park in Singapore

If you can make it through HydroDash’s unique obstacle course and remain dry, you really win liao lor. Singapore’s first inflatable water park is located close to Sentosa’s Palawan Beach – the catch is you’ve got to swim about 20m to reach the starting platform.

HydroDash is split into different zones of varying difficulty – and visitors of all ages can try their hand at the park’s many obstacle courses.

Some highlights to look forward to include The Mountain, a 4m-high inflatable you’ll have to scale, and Zig Zag, a winding, elevated inflatable course you’ll get to meander your way through.

For a splashing fun finale, be sure to attempt The Flip with your pals, where you’ll get to catapult your friend from a giant inflatable.

12. Sengkang Sports Centre

North-Easties, you won’t have to travel far or break the bank to enjoy a full day of fun at a brand-new water park. Recently renovated in July this year, Sengkang Sports Centre has got a swanky new water playground, with 5 new water slides with varying thrill levels.

These include Rainbow Dash, a 4-lane slide to race down with pals, and Cotton Candy Bowl, a whopping 79.1m-long slide.

The Ninja Trail at Compass One is a water play area in Singapore that fuses water elements into a 13-segment obstacle course. Meaning your kids won’t just be splashing around in water, but also get to achieve a sense of accomplishment when they finish the challenge.

The activities include reaching the end of a stepping-stone trail in the middle of mini fountains, with the highlight of it all being a water slide to zoom down. Besides the wet area, there’s also a dry area complete with springy animal rides and swings

Located within the heartlands of Admiralty, the Jelutung Harbour Park is a free, ship-themed water playground in Singapore open to the public. There are cannons and jets all around that spray water for you and your little one to splash around in.

But if you’d rather stay dry, there’s also a dry area that has slides, climbing nets, and even a merry-go-round.

15. Buangkok Square Park Water Park

North-Easties over at Buangkok don’t have to wander far for a whale of a time at a water playground, as they can head right to Buangkok Square Park Water Park. It’s split into 2 areas; the splash pad zone is for older kids to mess about with a spray jet tunnel and a dragonfly-themed fountain raining water from above, among other installations.

Younger tots can plop themselves down at the water play area which takes the form of a winding stream. It’s fitted with gates and water wheels that’ll keep them fascinated while being a cooling respite from the heat.

16. Kidz @ Wet Play Area at Northpoint City

Sliding down long tunnels and getting drenched under a water-dunking machine are just some of the activities kids can enjoy at Kidz @ Wet Play Area at Northpoint City. There are also water fountains and sprays for added excitement. While you’re there, let the children spend some time in the dry play area nearby as well.

Far East Organisation Children’s Garden at Gardens by the Bay has both a Toddler Play Zone (for children ages 1-5), and Water Play Zone (for children ages 6-12 years). Younger kids can enjoy a swaying bridge, springy stepping stones as well as water tunnels. The other water play area is entirely devoted to jets with sensors that can detect movement and spray accordingly.

Although the features at this water playground in Singapore are not elaborate, they’re nonetheless fun – proof that you can find happiness in the simplest of things. The water-dunking machines are also designed to look like flowers, drawing inspiration from the flora and fauna of GBTB.

18. Marina Barrage Water Playground

Although KidzPlay@SkyGarden at Nex sees many visitors each day, it is large enough to always have space for all to enjoy its play facilities, such as the mist machines and spray tunnel. There are also many benches for parents to take a seat on while looking after the kids.

20. Coastal PlayGrove at ECP

What was once the iconic Big Splash at East Coast Park has now been transformed into Coastal PlayGrove, a massive outdoor water playground in Singapore with 4-storey tall towers and giant slides. But you’re here for the water element, so here it is.

The wet area features 2 mini play pools for younger children to wade in. Parents, this is also where you can cool off by dipping your toes into the water. Adding a fun twist are the small water jets found at the sides, which will release gentle streams of water on its unsuspecting victims standing nearby.

21. Clusia Cove at Jurong Lakeside Gardens

If you haven’t already heard, Westies gained a new park in 2019 – the Jurong Lakeside Gardens. This is where you’ll also find Clusia Cove, the wet wonderland where kids can go wild.

This giant wading pool is peppered with large boulders so your tots can climb up and chill on them. And you don’t have to worry about the water being nasty af, as it goes through an underground purifying and disinfection system before flowing into the pool.

22. Westgate Wonderland

Any idea how the giant beanstalk in Jack and the Beanstalk grew so big? Maybe with the help of a giant watering can! And you can find one at Westgate Wonderland which has a garden theme with many water sprays. This place also has a blow-drying station so you can take your kids home afterwards with ease.

However, visitors have noted that the water at the playground has been switched off for now, but the kids are still free to roam its grounds.

If your children have exhausted the water playground, head on to the 10m treehouse where they can transform into little Tarzans with rock walls, slides and netted areas to crawl through.

23. Choa Chu Kang Mini Water Park

For those little ones obsessed with vehicles, there’s a quirky transport-themed mini water park in Choa Chu Kang, right opposite Keat Hong Community Centre. Apart from scampering amidst the jets of water, they can explore the interior of a van and train that double as slides, or stand under buckets of water that slowly fill up to await an early bath.

Families staying in the vicinity of Yew Tee MRT can rejoice, as they’ve got a swanky option when it’s time for a splashing good time. Waterplay Plaza is located next to Yew Tee MRT, and it’s equipped with tipping buckets overhead, sprinkler rings to run through, as well as a little stream for the tots to float their boats in.

There are even convenient changing rooms on-site for the little ones to don their swimsuits in a jiffy, as well as outdoor shower areas for a quick rinse before heading home.

25. Play @ Heights Park at Toa Payoh

Centrally located at Toa Payoh is Play @ Heights Park, which opened in April 2022. This new playground is hard to miss, with its colourful flooring decorated with fish motifs.

There are open-door cubicles next to the playground to rinse off after.

Kids can stand under the small tipping buckets that’ll periodically dunk water on them – the anticipation will have kids hopping in excitement. There’s also a small stream with water wheels, and the stream leads to a miniature wading pool. Energetic ones can frolic through the sprinklers too.

26. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park

Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park is mostly visited for its many sandpit playgrounds with sections like winding tunnel slides and mini rock climbing areas. Their water play place is equally fun, with innovative parts like man-made water channels and draining systems.

The park has also incorporated gates which children can play with to restrict the water flow, allowing them to learn about the movement of water. This makes for a fun educational outing.

Kids living in the North, Splash Park at Sembawang Shopping Centre has everything a water playground needs – mist machines, water guns, slides, and overturning water buckets. And since it’s usually less packed than other wet play areas, you don’t have to worry about coming at a certain time to beat the crowd.

Just a stone’s throw away is the dry playground which is equally spacious and has many play elements like fireman poles to slide down and mini rock-climbing slopes.

What you should know before visiting a water park in Singapore

As with all outdoor activities in Singapore, sunscreen is a must. You’ll want those that are water and sweat proof, otherwise you’ll have to take breaks to reapply your sunscreen.

There’s no formal dress code at any of these water parks in Singapore, but be sure to at least wear a swimsuit, as you could be denied entry if you’re not wearing one. If you want to be more modest, you can opt to wear a rash guard. The good thing about rash guards is that they also offer UV protection to your upper body.

Towels are often an extra charge at these water parks, so you’re better off bringing your own. Be sure to bring an extra set of clothes too, so you have something dry to change into after all that fun.

What to prepare before visiting a water park & playground in Singapore

You and junior are very likely going to get wet so you’ll want to prepare for that. That means bathing suits, an extra change of clothes, and even towels to dry off quickly. Waterproof shoes, such as rubber sandals would be appropriate for a water playground to protect feet from stepping on debris.

For toddlers still in diapers, you might want to get them swim diapers. Ones like the Huggies Little Swimmer Pants prevent leaks while letting kids move around freely in water.

Of course, in Singapore’s heat, you’ll want to apply lots of waterproof sunscreen before heading out into the sun. Waterproof hats are also a great way to protect heads from getting sunburnt.
