Genshin Impact has unveiled the full slate of content in its developer livestream for Version 6.2, marking the debut of key characters such as Alice and Nicole, as well as introducing the Hexerei Rite. While Version 6.2 won’t feature a new map expansion, it will come with one of the most exciting changes to the game since the launch of Natlan: ability kit upgrades for some of the oldest characters in Genshin Impact.
Dubbed the Hexerei Rite, Genshin Impact players will be able to undergo a quest line to enhance certain characters from Mondstadt. This series of quests will be tailored to each character. Some enhancements are independent upgrades, such as with Venti and Klee, while others will only come into effect when two Hexerei characters are paired together. Version 6.2 will also introduce Durin to Genshin Impact as a playable character, and much like his sibling, Albedo, he will also count as part of the Hexerei.

The livestream was hosted on Twitch and YouTube by the official Genshin Impact account, and among other things, it also revealed that players will be able to unlock an alternate skin for Durin by completing his Story Quest. Players will be able to pull for Durin in the first half of the Event Banners, where he will feature alongside Venti and Jahoda, while the second half will be headlined by Varesa and Xilonen. Unfortunately, there will be no Mondstadt Chronicled Banner in Genshin Impact during Version 6.2.
In addition to his Hexerei buffs, Venti will debut with a new Signature Weapon in Version 6.2: The Daybreak Chronicles. Unlike his previous Signature Weapons, The Daybreak Chronicles is made with a hypercarry Venti in mind, and it will feature on the Weapon Banner in Genshin Impact during the first half of Version 6.2. The upcoming patch will also feature a Hexerei selector, allowing players to obtain a copy of Fischl, Sucrose, or Razor by completing the Witch’s Coursework, a series of quests tied to the Hexerei Rite.
