The Porsche Cayenne goes electric, has up to 1,140hp, and can be charged wirelessly like a phone

There will also be optional support for inductive charging. Yes, you can charge the Cayenne wirelessly like a phone. This will require the inductive charging floor plate and will wirelessly charge the car at up to 11kW. It’s not quite as quick as a DC charger, but still just about as fast as most AC chargers. Crucially, it means there’s no need to mess around with charging cables.

The new electric Cayennes are also practical. It’s 55mm longer than the petrol-powered versions, bringing overall length to just 15mm under 5m. Porsche says the boot capacity is 781L with the seats up, and 1,588L with the seats down. There’s also a 90L front luggage compartment.

Like most modern cars, the new Cayennes will have a fully digital instrument cluster that consists of a 14.25-inch OLED display. There’s also an optional 14.9-inch passenger display. Thankfully, Porsche says that there will be buttons for the air-conditioning and volume adjustment.

The new electric Cayennes arrive at an interesting time for Porsche. The company recently announced that profits are down a whopping 99% as it reworks its EV strategy and faces challenging headwinds in the form of tariffs in the US and fierce competition in China – two of its largest markets.

Availability and pricing

The new Porsche Cayenne Electric and Turbo Electric are available to order now, and customers can expect deliveries sometime next year. Prices start at S$372,788 for the Cayenne Electric and S$668,288 for the Cayenne Turbo Electric.
