YES 933 DJ Ting Fong stuck at Changi Airport for 12 hours after AirAsia flight hit by two delays

What should have been a routine flight back home to Kuala Lumpur turned into an unexpected “one‑day tour” of Changi Airport Terminal 4 for YES 933 DJ Ting Fong, who was stranded for 12 hours after his AirAsia flight was twice delayed.

The Singapore-based Malaysian joked in Chinese that he had “hit the jackpot” when he was greeted by a nine-hour delay.

Then just as he said he was having a “G8 day”, he returned to his gate after nine hours — only to be greeted by news of another three-hour delay.

Posted on Nov 15, Ting’s Instagram video had garnered more than 63,500 views, 1,109 reactions and 74 comments at press time.

According to the flight details posted by Ting, the flight was supposed to depart at 10.05am, but only took off at 8.59pm.

During the nine-hour wait, Ting was offered lunch by the airline, which consisted of fried rice with either prawns or pork chop.

The DJ said he had one lingering concern throughout the ordeal: “Can I get any compensation?”, as he realised he had not purchased travel insurance for the trip.
